Zu Gast bei Ulrike

Während ich im Flugzeug sitze, das mich buchstäblich ans andere Ende der Welt bringt, wird heute eine Vorstellung meines Blogs und morgen mein Beitrag als Gastblogger bei der lieben Ulrike @Ulrikes Smaating erscheinen. Jeden Monat veröffentlicht Ulrike auf ihrem  Blog interessante Beiträge von anderen Bloggern zu ganz unterschiedlichen Themen. Von mir gibt es Tipps zum Thema… Foundation Paper Piecing oder Nähen auf Papier! Wer hätte das gedacht

While I'm on the plane that literally takes me to the other end of the world, my post will appear as a guest blogger at the lovely Ulrike @Urikes Smaating. Ich werde derweil mal wieder auf eine längere Reise gehen. Nach einem mehrtägigen Stopp auf Bali geht es ins Northern Territory Australiens, und von dort entlang der Küste Westaustraliens nach Perth, wo unser Sohn lebt. Da die Netzabdeckung auf dieser Route wohl extrem schlecht ist, werde ich es vermutlich nicht schaffen, von unterwegs zu posten, am ehesten werde ich ab und zu ein Bild auf Instagram hochladen.

Meanwhile I will go on a longer journey. After a stopover in Bali for several days, we will travel to the Northern Territory of Australia, and from there along the coast of Western Australia to Perth, where our son lives. Since the network coverage on this route is probably extremely bad, I will probably not be able to post on the go, most likely I will upload an image from time to time on Instagram.

Sternzeichen

Inzwischen habe ich die Hälfte der Sternzeichen beim “Modern Zodiac Sewalong” genäht. Ich hatte mich ja für die Foundation-Stoffserie von Sassafras Lane Desings entschieden und bin auch zufrieden damit. Nur das Gesicht der “Jungfrau” gefällt mir nicht so. Vielleicht hätte ich da einfach ein Grau nehmen sollen…

In the meantime, I sewed half of the zodiac signs of the "Modern Zodiac Sewalong". I had decided to go with the Foundation fabric line by Sassafras Lane Desings and I am really happy with it. I just do not like the face of the "Virgo" like that. Maybe I should have just chosen a gray here ...

Mit dem dritten Anlauf habe ich nun endlich den Modern Christmas Sampler Quilt fertiggestellt. Die Blöcke nach der Anleitung von Julianna @Sewing under the Rainbow hatte ich ja schon vor zwei Jahren genäht und letztes Jahr nur geschafft, das Top zusammenzunähen. Aber dieses Weihnachten wird er nun endlich hängen!

With the third attempt, I have finally finished the Modern Christmas Sampler Quilt. The blocks after the patterns of Julianna @Sewing under the Rainbow I had sewn two years ago and only managed make the top last year. But this Christmas I will finally be able to hang it!
