Diese Frau hat mich mit ihrer Musik mein ganzes Erwachsenenleben begleitet. Und gestern konnte ich sie einmal mehr live erleben. Ein großartiger Abend mit einer großartigen Frau!

Lieblingsquilt fertig!

Mein Malaysia-Quilt (aus Sarongs genäht) ist fertig gequiltet.
Das schöne Frühlingswetter (endlich!!) hab ich gleich ausgenutzt, um ihn ins rechte Licht zu setzen ;-)
Obwohl ich "life" noch niemanden getroffen habe, dem dieser bunte Quilt gefällt, ist er im Moment mein Lieblingsquilt!


I finished quilting my Malaysia quilt (sewn from Sarongs).
I took advantage of the nice spring weather (finally!!) to put it in perspective.
Even though I haven't met anybody in person yet who really likes this colorful quilt it's my favorite one right now.

Block Gather at Bumble Beans

Victoria from Bumble Beans is asking for house blocks to make donation quilts for an organization that aimes to provide homes and basic support for homeless persons and families in need. You can read more on her blog. I am contributing with these two blocks.

Im Februar mussten leider wieder nur Streifen zusammengenäht werden, diesmal in grün. Hoffentlich gibt's im März eine etwas anspruchsvollere Aufgabe...

Ich google ein bisschen... Camino de Santiago... mit Street View kann man ja jetzt virtuelle Spaziergänge durch so ein Städtchen machen. Ja, hier bin ich letztes Jahr auf meiner Pilgerreise vorbeigekommen... diese Statue, diese Bar da kenne ich... und wer sitzt da?

I am surfing a bit via Google Earth... you can take a virtual walk through those little towns using Street View. Yes, I came through this village on my pilgrimage last year... I recognize this statue, this bar.. but who is sitting at this table?

Spotty

Ich dachte, ich poste diesen Miniquilt aus gegebenem Anlass nochmal. Ich habe ihn schon vor einiger Zeit für meine Tochter gemacht. Er zeigt ihr Kaninchen Spotty. Wir mussten ihn heute einschläfern lassen.

I thought I'd post this little quilt once again in view of the given situation. I made it for my daughter a while ago. It shows her rabbit Spotty. We had to put him down today.

Yield of Friday Night Sew-In

Sabine, the queen of persuasion ;-), has posted a table runner she had made with a link to the pattern a few days ago. Well, I couldn't resist and thought it might be a good project for the Friday Night Sew-In. So here it is: a tablerunner made from China inspired fabrics (although I should have chosen more contrasting ones to highlight the pattern better...)

Sabine, die Königin der Verführung ;-), hat neulich auf ihrem Blog einen schnell zu nähenden Tischläufer mit Link zur Anleitung gezeigt. Da konnte ich nicht widerstehen und hab ihn mir als Projekt für das Freitag-Nacht-Nähtreffen (initiiert von Heidi und Bobbi) vorgenommen. Also, ich müsste den Tee schon in eine Thermoskanne füllen, damit er nicht abkühlt, bevor der Läufer fertig ist ;-) Sabine ist da wohl schneller.
Nun ist Samstag und ich kann das Ergebnis zeigen. Naja, ich hätte kontrastreichere Stoffe wählen sollen, um das Muster besser zu betonen...

ATC Swap Element Wasser

Themen der ATC-Swaps einer Gruppe aus Neuseeland und Australien, bei der ich immer gerne mitmache, sind dieses Jahr die Elemente Wasser, Erde, Feuer, Wind, Metall und Holz.

There is an ATC group with members from New Zealand and Australia I like to swap ATCs with. This year the swaps are themed "Elements" namely Water, Earth, Fire, Wind, Metal and Wood.

Hier sind die Karten zum Thema Wasser. Optional konnte auch ein Haiku dazugeschrieben werden.

UFO Pledge

Blueladyjl hat mich zu Beginn des Jahres zu dem Versprechen verleitet, im Monat Januar mindestens ein UFO fertigzustellen. Gerade rechtzeitig zum Monatsende habe ich es geschafft, den "Gartenfeen"- Quilt mit Stickereien nach Vorlagen von Ursula Schertz fertigzustellen. Das Quilttop lag seit über einem Jahr herum und wartete darauf, gequiltet zu werden. Ich fürchte, ohne Blueladyjl wäre es noch eine ganze zeitlang länger in der UFO-Kiste geblieben ;-)

At the beginning of this year Blueladyjl tempted me to pledge to at least finish one UFO in January. Just in time I managed to complete the "Gardenfairies" quilt with stitcheries from Ursula Schertz patterns. The top had been awaiting completion for more than a year and I have to admit that without Blueladyjl it probably would have stayed in that UFO chest quite a while longer ;-)
