Home Sweet Home ATC Swap II

As I have written in an earlier post I participated in the "Home Sweet Home" fiber trading card exchange. Tracie, the swap hostess connected each door ATC with three window cards and made a little house out of each set. Here is the result. Quite a nice little village, don't you think? Ich hatte ja beim "Home Sweet Home" ATC Swap mitgemacht, den Tracie organisiert hat. Tracie hat aus jeweils drei Fenster-ATCs, einer Tür-Karte und einem Dreieck als Dach je ein kleines Häuschen gemacht. Hier ist das Ergebnis. Ist doch ein nettes kleines Dorf zusammengekommen, oder? Auf Tracies Blog könnt ihr noch mehr darüber lesen. Nun warte ich gespannt darauf, was für ein Häuschen ich bekomme. Die abgebildeten werden beim SEW SOMERSET Magazin eingereicht und hoffentlich dort veröffentlicht.

Kookie Bird from Bimbimbie

Dieser kleine Vogel kam heute vom fernen Australien zu mir geflogen. Bimbimbie hatte ein paar ihrer Vögelchen an Ostern unter anderen Bloggern verlost und ich war einer der glücklichen Gewinner gewesen :-)).

This little bird has flewn to me all the way from Australia and arrived in Germany today. I have been one of the lucky winners of the Easter draw Bimbimbie had done for other bloggers :-)).

Dotee Dolls and ATCs received

Today those cute Dotee Dolls and ATCs arrived at my home here in Germany after just a four-day journey from Australia. I love them all! Thanks Doreen Grey and Dawn Thomas from Australia and to Judy Scott from Scotland for their lovely cards and to Vanessa Hall from Kentucky, Robin from Hawaii and last not least to Dot Christian from Australia for those adorable dolls! I am especially thrilled to be the proud owner now of an "original" Dotee Doll made by Dotee herself!!!

Meine Schildkröte Marvin ist inzwischen aus ihrer Winterstarre erwacht. Wir haben ja im Moment auch echtes "Schildkrötenwetter"! Nun suche ich noch einen geeigneten Partner für Marvin, damit er nicht so alleine in seinem großen Gehege ist.

I won the Kookie Bird Easter Draw!

Annie had been so generous to host an Easter raffle of some of her art Kookie Birds. I am one of the lucky winners! How exciting ist that?? I just came back from my vacation to Italy only to find out that her husband had drawn my name. So that little bird will have to fly all the way from Australia to Germany. Annie hat an Ostern großzügigerweise sechs ihrer selbstgemachten Kookie Birds verlost und ich bin einer der glücklichen Gewinner!! Ist das nicht aufregend? Bin gerade von meiner Italien-Reise zurückgekommen und siehe da - Annies Ehemann hat inzwischen bei der Verlosung meinen Namen gezogen! Happy Easter - Frohe Osterfeiertage!

I am leaving tomorrow for Italy to spend Easter on Elba island and then will be visiting Tuscany for a few days. Have a Happy Easter everybody!!!

Ich bin dann mal unterwegs nach Elba, wo wir Ostern verbringen werden. Anschließend werden wir die Toskana ein wenig erkunden. Euch allen wünsche ich schöne Ostertage!!

Allgäuer Patchwork-Treffen

Gestern war ich beim Allgäuer Patchworktreffen in Kempten, wo Bernadette Mayr ihr neues Buch "Häuser-Patchwork" vorgestellt hat. Die Original-Quilts aus dem Buch waren dort live zu bewundern. Außerdem gab's beim Show and Tell einige schöne Arbeiten zu sehen.

Yesterday I've been to the Allgaeu Patchwork Get-Together in Kempten, where Bernadette Mayr presented the quilts from her new book "Häuser-Patchwork". There had also been some very nice quilts to admire at the show and tell.

Ich war zusammen mit meiner Freundin Gisela dort. Sie hat sich gerade erst mit dem Patchworkvirus angesteckt (vermutlich bei mir ;-)) und war das erste Mal bei so einer Veranstaltung..... und hat doch tatsächlich bei der Verlosung den ersten Preis, nämlich diesen Quilt gewonnen! Er ist in Wirklichkeit viel schöner als auf dem Bild, denn er ist komplett von Hand gequiltet. Haben wir uns gefreut!!!! Kaum zu glauben, aber ich hab dann auch noch einen Nadeleinfädler gewonnen. Das Teil funktioniert tatsächlich super!

My friend Gisela accompanied me to the get-together. She only recently had been infected by the patchwork virus (probably by me ;-)) and it's been the first time for her to visit such an event.... and sure enough she won the quilt raffle! It's the quilt on this pic and it's even more beautiful than on the photo because it's hand quilted all over with various patterns. Can you imagine how excited we were? Above all I won a great needle threader that really works fine!!!
