Noch ein OWOH-Gewinn - One more OWOH prize

Heute bekam ich ein ganzes Paket voller altem Krimskrams - eine wahre Schatzkiste -, die ich bei der One World One Heart Aktion auf Chels Blog gewonnen hatte. Ganz herzlichen Dank, Chelise!

Today I received a package filled with vintage ephimera - a veritable treasure box - that I had won at the One World One Heart event on Chel's blog. Thanks a lot, Chelise!

Heute kam mein erster OWOH-Gewinn: ein limitierter und signierter Druck einer Mixed-Media-Collage von Jo (The Cart Before The Horse).

Today my first OWOH prize arrived: a signed limited edition print of a collage made by Jo from The Cart Before The Horse.

Außerdem habe ich von Gabriele den "You make my day award" bekommen und fühle mich dementsprechend geschmeichelt :) Vielen Dank, Gabriele!

Above all I got the "You make my day award" from Gabriele and therefore I am feeling quite flattered :) Thanks a lot, Gabriele!

Mir fällt es jedoch schwer, fünf Blogs auszusuchen, um den Award weiterzugeben. Es gibt einfach zu viele Blogs, die dazu beitragen mir den Tag versüßen ;-) Vielen Dank an euch alle!

Und diese Postkarte habe ich für Dot gemacht. Sie wird morgen zusammen mit einigen von meinen handgefärbten Stoffen nach Australien reisen.

Cyber Fyber Exhibition

Yet another project I couldn't resist to participate in ;-) : Susan Lenz's Cyber Fyber Exchange.
Noch ein Project, bei dem ich nicht widerstehen konnte mitzumachen ;-) Susan Lenz's Cyber Fyber Exchange.

I copied the following explanation from her blog :

"CYBER FYBER is an exhibition of international fiber art scheduled for January 8th through 20th, 2009 at Gallery 80808/Vista Studios, 808 Lady Street in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, USA. The brainchild of Susan Lenz, this exhibit will focus on the supportive, global community of fiber artists with whom Susan regularly shares new techniques, contemporary approaches to textiles, and finished work by Internet websites and blogs. The exhibition will include three primary areas: Fiber ATCs (Artist Trading Cards); fiber postcards; and the work of several invited artists. The exhibition will also include FIBER DAY and ATC trading day. From the beginning, Susan Lenz is documenting CYBER FYBER on a blog/journal. "

I sent her one of my Scout ATCs that I made a year ago to mark the centenary of scouting, in remembrance of Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the international scouting movement.

Ich hab ihr eine meiner Pfadfinder ATCs geschickt, die ich vor einem Jahr aus Anlass des 100jährigen Pfadfinder-Jubiläums gemacht habe, in Erinnerung an Sir Robert Baden-Powell, den Gründer der internationalen Pfadfinderbewegung.

Here is the ATC I got in return. Hier ist die ATC, die ich im Austausch bekam.

"This ATC was made after cutting up an older piece of work. That work was made as the centerpiece for my first solo exhibition. It was based on architectural elements found in Gothic and Romanesque churches. The piece was created using chiffons on a heat transfer painted base. It was free motion embroidered."

Frühchen-Quilt - Preemie Quilt

Hier ist mein erster Frühchen-Quilt.
Diese Quilts werden gesammelt und an die Frühgeborenen-Station eines Krankenhauses übergeben. Dort bekommt dann jedes Frühchen seinen eigenen kleinen Kuschelquilt für den Aufenthalt in der Klinik, der dann auch mit nach Hause genommen werden darf.

This is my first Preemie Quilt.
These quilts will be given to a hospital ward for premature infants. So each preemie will have his/her own little quilt during their stay at the hospital that even may be kept when being released for home.

Driftwood

Am Wochenende waren wir bei einem Konzert meiner Lieblingsgruppe Driftwood. Die vier machen die schönste Musik, die ich mir vorstellen kann. Sally's Stimme ist einfach einzigartig. Seit einem halben Jahr haben sie einen vierten Mann, der Fiddle spielt und auch noch super singt. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend.

Valentinsherzen

Auf der Art4Card-Liste werden Valentins-Herzen getauscht. Die linke ATC habe ich für den Tausch gemacht und die rechte hat mir Ulla heute geschickt.

DAS wollte ich nicht auch noch anfangen, aber nun konnte ich doch nicht länger widerstehen: ich habe meine ersten Stoffe gefärbt! Allerdings hatte ich nicht genug Stoff vorrätig und muss nun erst wieder welchen bestellen. Daher hat es zunächst nur für eine Farbe in verschiedenen Abstufungen gereicht.

I've been dyeing fabric for the first time - even though I never wanted to begin with that in addition to all the other things I am already involved in ;-) Now I am waiting eagerly for more fabric that I ordered to try out other colors.

Wie jedes Jahr hab ich zu Silvester Glücksschweinchen gebacken.

Um Mitternacht haben wir dann diese chinesischen Ballons in den Himmel steigen lassen. Zuvor waren sie mit unseren Wünschen für das neue Jahr beschriftet worden. Mal sehen, ob einige davon in Erfüllung gehen werden ;-)
